Who is Ruby?

Ruby was a Pacific Northwest dog sho liked to play on the beaches in Washington State overlooking Puget Sound. She was half black lab and half springer spaniel. Ruby loved the water. Once we were walking her near a beach and a clam squirted water up in the air as she stepped on it. Wow! Ruby went wild barking at the sand. I really loved that dog. She passed away a while back and I think of her when I make my jewelry. Ruby was a beautiful dog, who had attitude and love that was hard to keep up with. And this is Ruby's Jewelry Farm.

About the artist...

My name is David R. Edmiston. I have enjoyed traveling to meet people all of my life. I grew up in Mobile, Alabama. My first memory is being held up to see the parades at Mardi Gras. My first job was working in the construction field. I went to the Gulf of Mexico in the summers and worked building vacation homes, then slept on the beach at night underneath the stars, listening to the surf. I joined the Navy later to work nights on the flight deck of the USS Midway as an A.M.E. I was fully qualified as a Parachute Rigger. After that, I got my merchant mariner's card (Z-Card) and worked the re-supply boats for the rigs off the Louisiana coast.

I later moved to Atlanta where I met my girlfriend. We once traveled to New Zealand together. This is the story. Here are some photos.

I worked in the countertop trade for 10 years, and made Corian art on the side.

I also write poetry.

I am the principle fabricator for a second-generation jewelry master (Adam Lange) at Black Mountain Gallery. I have created several successful earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pins, rings, and anklets designs for Black Mountain Gallery over the years. Now he is encouraging me to sell my own unique designs.

I love making wearable art, and I hope when you put on my jewelry, you can feel the warmth and love I put in each piece I make for you.
